Melt & Pour Soap Fun!

This morning I decided to dig out my stash of melt and pour soap and make some guest soaps to put in a gift basket I am making for a friend. I made some sandalwood scented embossed soaps & I did a little experiment with some ground oatmeal & some cinnamon and I can't wait to unmold it and see how it works. I have a few other projects in the works too! I guess I should go and get to some of my other projects!

Trying to get organized!

I am always trying to find ways to better organized my craft space. I have paper punches, ribbons, papers, clear stamps, rubber stamps, inks, embossing powders, adhesives, stickers, card blanks, a sewing machine, threads, fabrics, yarns, rub ons, albums, magazines and I'm sure a lot more I haven't mentioned. When I am not organized I find it hard to craft. I find it hard to be creative. I find it hard to find the right tool for the task at hand if things are in a state of disarray! I'm sure everyone has the same problem.

I have a decent amount of space in my crafting area, but unfortunately, when we have company they are bound to see my mess. Again, another reason to be organized. So in an effort to get my craft stash together, I enlisted the help of my husband. He is pretty handy with a glue gun, hammer and band saw. Thank goodness too, because at the cost of retail organization storage...I could probably spend a small fortune!! The first item he made to help get organized is a four foot by four foot unit that has small cubbys to place my punches, glitters and a vast majority of supplies. However....its still not enough! So, the next thing he made for me was a shelve that is located beside my craft table. It's about two feet long, and has built in book ends. Here is the site of all my papers, which are stored in organizers, and binders. The next item he incorporated into my craft room was a shelf, about 8ft long that used to be my parents. He painted it up and hung it up for me. Again,it is housing craft supplies. Mostly my craft magazines, and binders full of embellishments. His latest creation for my craft room is a spinning peg board, so I can organize and easily find my stamps. which happen to be my favorite craft item!!! Unfortunately, he didn't understand exactly what I wanted.....so he'll be in the man cave this weekend making me a bigger, more functional spinning rack. Don't get me wrong.....The one he already made will be put to good use, housing my smaller stamps!!!! I am hoping that with the larger version of the spinner rack I can eliminate some of my binders that house my embellishments. As soon as I get everything put together I will certainly post some pics......a little note....My husband is all about function....not so much about aesthetics.......hee hee.....So the end result is not always pretty....but it does get the job done!

About Lisa's Crafty Corner.......

I haven't always enjoyed crafting. When I was in my twenties, I was a single mom, working full time. I was lucky if I had time to keep up with my housework, let alone time to be creative!! But now my children are older, I'm happily remarried, and now employed only part-time.
When we settled into our house a few years ago, I discovered I enjoyed doing sewing projects.....then I discovered "Scents And Beauty Business Course" an online course and http://www.allcrafters.com that spurred an interest in making my own bath salts and other bath & beauty products. From there I have expanded my interest to melt and pour soaps to paper crafts to just about everything in between!! My blog is dedicated to all my crafting endeavors, so that I may inspire others to find the same joy in creating as I have!
